To the Lord alone, the Holy one, not to oneself.
How great is the brotherly love [philadelphia] of the Lord; it does not wish to cast away those who do not desire [Him], but brings them in.
[...] the Lord my God. The Lord my God is not mine, if I am not God’s; for this does not [even] exist in Him. Through the [sufferings] of the Lord, [He] desires to save my soul. If I consider the salvation, and [He] desires to write that this is [for] the sinner. If [one reads] the psalms, they will be cut off; and with those who are grieving, [they will be] silent. If it is the [rejection] of your men and women, and [the destruction] of all [who] sin. The judgment of God is not [in] the making of golden calves; [but] God has interpreted [it] in His loving-kindness [philanthropia]. God did not spare [Himself]; why then these [things] which God has brought [upon us]? God did not only [give] the end; He did not merely [cast us] out. But He clothed [us] in flesh; though [He was] not in need of anything. And [He] was clothed in [the body], and by [His] own will, [He] revealed Himself to those who are in need, and gave to them [this] God, while in the flesh, [to] offer [sacrifices] to God. By these, the sins [are washed away]. Do not fear, for [He] is in the flesh for you. He who [is] above all [things], having partaken of [our] nature, [remains] in [His] own [divine] nature, for [our] salvation. He did not [do] this likewise, until [He] became a grace [for us], which [He] took upon Himself from the [divine] powers. For [He is] a lover of humanity [philanthropos], [He is] God, and [He does] not [leave] us in all [our] time, [showing us] the [divine] loving-kindness. Do not [despair] of [His] power, [for] the loving-kindness of God has [brought us] through.
