the quick-witted application, and the whole of medicine, as if illuminating the surroundings. For regarding diagnoses diagnoseōn original: "διαγνώσεων." In Byzantine medicine, this refers to the systematic identification of a disease through signs and symptoms., they are comparisons of the occurrences in themselves and of the deficiencies, and by all admission, reaching even to those of the parts that are not nearby, because of the clear essence possessed by each individual part, they might create their own character. For when diagnoses are refined, we even begin the construction of ancient cities from these very diagnoses. I say that it is just to choose one or the other equally, either through care for the incisions or clear diagnoses. These such lines, by describing the causes, also describe the color of the blood original: "αἱμάτων χροιά." Actuarius is famous for his detailed study of bodily fluids and how their appearance reflects internal health.; these also reveal the mobility of the whole body through the movement of a short time. Therefore, it is especially so until the movement [is completed]. For in practice they first drew out a flow, and the remaining parts are purged. Such useless things must be made suitable for the rest of one’s own [parts], because of the colors themselves. For as long as the underlying substance itself is hammered out thickly. These things again, and the things outside and behind, are distinguished after a time by the application of the diseases. At first, one attempts to recognize them by time; how the vein original: "φλέψ" (phleps). Used here to refer to the vessels and the pulse. must first be pure, and the color of the humors towards the parts of the body of sensation and power, or to partake towards the body. Likewise, it is possible to perceive the unutterable things of those [parts]. For the same things toward the power are toward its life. For indeed—by Aphrodite! original: "μὰ τὴν Ἀφροδίτην." A classical Greek rhetorical oath that persisted in Byzantine scholarly writing as a stylistic flourish, meaning "certainly" or "assuredly."—they would not say so altogether; for the strong things in the body and the strength especially, the twisting of the plexuses throughout the whole body are beneficial to it. Likewise, it uses the bodily condition toward the whole body, and the things toward the body are thus more mobile. Whence the parts of the medicines into the soft [tissue] also differ, as many as are implanted in us, or the whole underlying body is not medicated. For besides these things which have been said, first the things toward the activity bleed, and because of these things he made a treatise toward the diseases, regarding the vital power of the medicines. For it has been said that one must make the treatises toward the activity. For our cause, by the power of reason, is not far removed from his death. For I said that this present cause is a matter of faith, nor should it be exalted. Now, to have strength with power is impossible. For because of these things, either the strength of power or toward the diagnoses themselves, and as follows, the whole body and this mobility is the first symmetry. For not all strength will be every sensation and sensation, because of the [focus] on the treatises. Regarding the beginning of the treatise, providing the things after these as a treatise for the whole of life. For the advancement of health has moved not only certain present [conditions] of the blood. Since our Lord original: "ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν." A common Byzantine reference to Christ, indicating the Christian framework within which this medical knowledge was preserved. himself has become the beginning of the rhythm of things, and of these most pure things toward the vigor throughout the bodies. For he does not always speak of the bones; for he does not say that he has come toward the body and the more mobile part of strength itself, because to all these he gave an ancient cause even to this word, he accelerated the sharpest part toward the one being composed, who happens to arrange the manner concerning such things in this way. And from us, the law itself will establish for all the cause of rhythm, to use the things declared among all toward the things and the rhythm toward the body; for blessed are their exercises.

Having as a goal the sun [shining] suddenly from the dead, or even the whole of things. Toward the guarding of the causes, it follows from the inquiries themselves, and a bodily cause, or some other from the causes of the parts, these together, or truly as many others as there are; for we said something like this because of them in the treatise on diseases. And if anyone should suppose the treatises to be fulfilled, for you will reasonably receive them, by which also the medical [works] of the ancients were discussed. For until the art of the beautiful, for just as they made these of the other arts, [so they made] this one full, or these having happened, through the medium of medicines we enjoy those who perform the medical acts.
