I have diligently compared original: "diligenter contuli." Collation is the process of comparing a manuscript against a known text to identify variations. this entire codex A codex is a manuscript bound in book form rather than a scroll. with the edition of Henri Estienne original: "H. Stephani." Estienne (Stephanus) was a famous 16th-century printer whose edition of Plato established the standard "Stephanus numbering" still used by scholars today.. T.G. 31 Aug. 1813.

The same scribe A professional copyist who transcribed the text by hand. who wrote out the entire manuscript also numbered the tetralogies Groups of four dialogues, a traditional system for organizing Plato's works. and dialogues.

The numbers, written in ink, have faded from the Register A list or table of contents at the start of the book..

A gold-stamped binder's mark appears at the very bottom edge of the page on the inner leather turn-in of the binding.
