The term "Matenagirk" (Մատենագիրք) refers to authors of classical manuscripts or bibliographical works, often used to denote the golden age of Armenian literature.
Agathangelos, a name derived from the Greek for "bearer of good news," is the traditional author of the history detailing Armenia’s conversion to Christianity. Though the text claims to be the work of a 4th-century secretary to King Trdat III, modern scholars generally date the composition to the 5th century.
