The size of this volume does not permit a more extensive introduction than the essential points.
The manuscript for this printing dates to the Armenian Year 719 original: "ՉԻԹ" — corresponds to 1270 AD.. Where there were unavoidable errors in the letters, which could be discerned clearly in some places, we have made corrections, marking the important changes with an asterisk original: "աստղանիշ" beneath the text as it appeared in the original. We have also organized the unarticulated and single-point script into words and chapters.
The appendix at the end of the volume, the "Exhortations of Eznik Vardapet," is attributed to the holy father Nilus original: "Նեղոս" — likely St. Nilus the Ascetic.. However, this is not present in the Greek original, even though his writings themselves are not all preserved in their entirety.
