A detailed engraving depicts a scene from Milton's "Paradise Lost." On the left, a man representing Adam walks with his head buried in his hands in a gesture of profound grief, wearing a loincloth of leaves. Beside him, a winged angel in flowing robes places a comforting hand on Adam's shoulder while pointing with the other arm toward a distant, rocky peak. Upon this peak stands a crucifix with the figure of Christ, illuminated by a divine light breaking through the clouds. The background transitions from a lush, wooded area to a more desolate, mountainous landscape. Below the main image, within a rectangular frame filled with horizontal shading, is a short inscription in Italian cursive script. At the bottom left and right of this frame are the names of the designer and engraver.
