CHAPTER II

Now, in the reign of Trdat, the son of Khosrov, through the illumination of pleasing love and the knowledge of the faith original: "pashpanut'yamb" - literally 'protection/defense', though context implies 'piety' or 'faith' through Gregory, the son of Anak, the great priest; and with him was his younger son, Aristakes, who was his father’s collaborator and fellow bishop throughout all the days of his life, until the day of his Christ-called rest. And places were prepared for their habitation, and they were worthy of burial places of rest: the great Gregory in the province of Daranaghi, in the village which is called Tordan. And as for the holy Aristakes, his son, after his death was confessed, they took him from the province of Tsopk, and they placed him in the province of Yekheats, in the village of Til, in the possessions of his father, Gregory.

CHAPTER III

Then after this, Khosrov the Short reigned, the grandson of Khosrov, the son of the brave and virtuous King Trdat. In his days, the eldest son of Gregory, Vrtanes, stood and became high priest upon his father’s throne, in place of his father and his brother. Peace and construction, populousness and health, fruitfulness and abundance of possessions and prosperity, and the great God-loving service grew and increased in the days of their the king and the high priest's rule.
