Like the morning from the dawn, it is bright: and like the sound of the singer, the Lord of beauties has begun. That you have descended, you have returned while you are great, again the beauties: that there might not be to him a discourse concerning you in a weak mouth. Chosen Ephrem, the great one of the teaching: where the word of your praise is full of glories. It is wonderful that you spoke spiritually like a seraph: that in the tongue of flesh, you recounted all the truth. That bright one who brought all the heralds as it is: with what shall I sing to you, chosen one, by the hands of the compassionate? That athlete who conquered in the struggle of the teaching: what crown is there for your word that it might approach you? The adultery of the world, you have stripped it from all parts: where the priests are concerned, with what shall I praise you? The struggler who swallowed the races in the faith: that high spear that killed all his captives. That third one who shall not be ruled by it
