Mar Jacob of Edessa.

The theology of Mar Jacob, it did not fear to become a living body for God, which bore the first Adam from the earth. It did not fear to become a body from the shedding, just as the nature happened in wonder from the living earth. Mar Luke spoke, and as he heard from those who saw, he wrote for us a Gospel and revealed to us life. He told us how the angel came, not in a dream as to Joseph, but in openness and in a loud voice. And as the angel brought joy to the earth that had been cursed from all families, by his hand he revealed to us to speak to the Son of God, and that it is the angel who is revealed in likeness while he is being manifested. He descended, even if to the earth, to seek for the Son, to have mercy on the sinful Adam in the likeness of the Son of God.

He sees that Divinity, while he is becoming a body and coming to us. Like a mediator, while he is being revealed to the likeness (1). The angel who descended from heaven, not to speak, he who descended, not from heaven like an angel. The mouth that is full of holiness and the fear of God, who is it, and it was not written in the prophetic book and of light? The mouth that is full of wisdom and great discernment, that for the child of the exalted one, he may become the Son of God in likeness. The mouth that is full of the righteousness of God that descended from heaven, and as the prophets spoke, to the God who descended.
