The foundation of the current edition consists of nine manuscripts from the Mashtots Matenadaran. It is known, however, that a number of manuscripts of Aristakes Lastiverttsʻi are kept in foreign libraries, especially in Vienna, which remained inaccessible to us. But since the original text of Aristakes Lastiverttsʻi, in general, has reached us in good condition, and there are no major variants between the used manuscripts (as well as the four codices of the first printing), it is unlikely that such would exist in the other manuscripts. H. Tashyan compared the four manuscripts of the Mkhitaryan Library in Vienna with the printing and did not notice any important variants. 1 Nevertheless, these manuscripts must also be studied, and the future will dictate the manner in which the results of that research will be placed into scientific circulation.
