The heading of Chapter A in all manuscripts forms the direct continuation of the work's general title. Chapter A is divided into two, with the first part entitled "Prologue," while the title of the whole work and the chapter heading precede the words "And it happened after the death of David the Kouropalates" (current edition, p. 22, line 25).
