III. Homiliæ Mar-Narsetis in Joseph Homilies of Mar Narsai on Joseph.

This poem in twelve-syllable verse, written in the 5th century, cannot be compared, either in content or in form, to the Complete History of Joseph by St. Ephrem that we published about ten years ago. This latter work is far superior to that of Mar Narsai. It is a poem of 7 syllables, divided into twelve books.

The manuscript of Narsai was sent to us, upon our request, by Mgr. Joseph Elie Khayatt, former patriarchal vicar and today Archbishop of Kirkuk. May His Excellency please accept here the expression of our gratitude.

We have collated our sheets with the manuscript from the Royal Library of Berlin, No. 58. The orthography of this manuscript leaves much to be desired. However, it was of great help to us, especially by helping us realize the corrections made in Mosul itself, in the manuscript that we possess. We...
