A large, ornate Baroque-style engraved bookplate. At the top, four winged cherubs support a decorative royal crown topped with a cross. Below this, a circular frame is partially covered by a modern paper slip. Hanging from the bottom of the frame is the insignia of the Order of the Golden Fleece, showing a ram's fleece. The entire design is surrounded by architectural scrolls and heavy garlands of fruit, such as grapes and pears. At the base, a wide, curling banner contains a Latin inscription in capital letters.

was recorded according to the principles of the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences in Berlin by Mr. Petzet Erich Petzet, 1870 to 1928, was a prominent librarian and scholar of German manuscripts in November 1907.
original: "EX ELECTORALI BIBLIOTHECA SERENISS. VTRIVSQ: BAVARIAE DVCVM." The phrase "both Bavarias" refers to the historical divisions of Upper and Lower Bavaria united under the Wittelsbach electors.
