An open helmet, the reward of virtue, adorns the shield; it has a jewel hanging from its lower rim. Set upon it are twin mountains with a boundary line, which are held firmly on either side by buffalo horns painted in a blue color, remaining unmoved.
The mantling original: velamen; the decorative cloth draped from a heraldic helmet that wraps entirely around the shield original: umbo; literally the "boss" of a shield, here referring to the shield itself retains the colors of the golden boundary and the shield.
What, however, do these arms teach? The golden boundary signifies a noble soul original: almā; likely referring to alma anima, split across the line break and a Peace that is better than gold. The mountains, shining with silver, represent the blessings of Peace. Through the blue shield, the sacred Royal Palace of heaven is shown—the price of Peace. But virtue, which is the glorious reward given to itself, is signified by the open helmet. The buffalo horns provide the strength by which they preserve a calm Peace through many ages.
Greetings, holy tranquility! Greetings to you four RULANDS! Be mindful of your boundary while the fury of Mars original: Martis; the Roman god of war, here symbolizing the military conflicts of the period shakes the entire German world. Continue to protect the peoples and the lands entrusted to you through Peace and Justice. No small grace will await you one day in heaven; God is just to all who are deserving.
But if a dire storm should roar with an overwhelming wave to disturb your pious Peace, and if the bitter hand of an enemy should press more sharply to overturn your calm quiet: then, with united strength and shared arms—as the buffalo horns on the helmet demonstrate—stand firm. Do not let the discord of the foolish masses turn the world upside down in a dizzying whirl, casting the highest to the bottom or raising the lowest to the top. Instead, endure hardships for the peace of your fatherland as vigilant guardians of the people and faithful fathers. In doing so, glory will finally reveal itself to you, granting the honor you have earned and the distinguished gift of a crown, bestowing honors that will never perish.
