An engraving depicts a seated woman, possibly an allegorical figure or a personification of Vanitas or Beauty. She possesses exceptionally long, thick, and wavy hair that flows down her back and spreads out around her like a mantle. She wears a crown decorated with large floral or fleur-de-lis elements. In her raised right hand, she holds a small circular mirror which shows the reflection of a face. Her left hand is raised slightly in a gesturing motion. At the base of her flowing gown, a small stag with prominent, branching antlers is shown with its head lowered toward the ground. The entire composition is rendered with fine, rhythmic line work and cross-hatching characteristic of 15th or 16th-century European printmaking.
