A library bookplate for the Andover-Harvard Theological Library. It features a classical Greek or Roman temple portal with two fluted columns supporting a blue pediment and architrave. On the architrave is the Latin inscription "Theological Institution." Inside the portal, an open book (the Bible) rests on a pedestal. On the left page is Psalm 119:169 in Hebrew: "Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word." On the right page is John 17:17 in Greek: "Your word is truth." Light rays radiate from the center behind the book. The base of the structure contains Greek text referencing Christ as the cornerstone. Below the illustration, the name of the library and the date of its founding are printed.
