...they went up to Gozartha, but did not descend to Tur Abdin. If they had passed through Tur Abdin, Josue of Inwarda original: "Invardensis", who had been newly elected and had already received the garment of dignity from the Sultan, had determined in his heart that when he went to receive the status of honor from the city of Gozartha, he would make peace with the Patriarch of Mardin, so that he might consecrate him and the seat of Tur Abdin might be abolished, and there would be one flock and one shepherd. But they, as soon as they arrived in Mardin, without any delay, ordained the bishop Chaleph as Patriarch, and they called him Ignatius, according to the name of his predecessors.
The bishop Barsuma the Arab, nephew of the Maphrian Behenam—who is the Schatti Arab—laid hands upon him, as did the bishop Abraham the Manaamite. He was the one who had a dispute with the bishop Georgius of the monastery of Qartmin, whom the Patriarch Behenam had sent to the monastery of Mar Ananias to resolve the dissension between them and those of Tur Abdin. On the Sunday of Pentecost, in the year 1766 of the Greeks 1455 AD, Chaleph was ordained Patriarch in Mardin, without informing the bishops of his diocese or those of Tur Abdin. If they had informed those of Tur Abdin, perhaps that schism in Tur Abdin would have been avoided, just as the Patriarch Behenam did in Jerusalem, when he removed the resident from the region of Damascus and established true peace. Josue of Tur Abdin was a person of peace who wanted to do this, when he had recently received the garment of dignity from the Sultan...

But they, as soon as they reached Mardin, without any delay, ordained the bishop Chaleph as Patriarch, and called him Ignatius by the name of his predecessors.
He had hands laid upon him by the prelate Barsuma the Arab, nephew of the Maphrian Behenam, by the name of the Arab Schatti, and the prelate Abraham the Manaamite, who had had a disagreement with Georgius, the bishop of the monastery of Qartmin, and to whom the Patriarch Behenam had sent a messenger to the monastery of Mar Ananias to remove the dissension from Tur Abdin. And indeed, on the Sunday of Pentecost in the year of the Greeks 1766 Christ 1455, Chaleph was ordained Patriarch in Mardin, without having communicated the matter either with the bishops of his diocese or with those of Tur Abdin. If they had communicated it to those of Tur Abdin, that schism of the see of Tur Abdin would have been sustained by that Patriarch, just as the Patriarch Behenam had done in Jerusalem, who removed the see from the Damascus region and brought about a profound peace. Indeed, the Patriarch-elect of Tur Abdin, Josue, wished to enter into peace, since, although already from the month of January original: "Conun posteriore" he had received the garment of dignity from the Sultan...
