And Shapur commanded that they all be killed before him, and after them all, Simeon. And when the executioners began to kill them, the holy man was present, kissing each one of them and encouraging their hearts to wait for the one who would lead them to the crown of martyrdom. And after all of them, he too was killed on the Friday of the Week of the Whites original: "of the whites". And for this reason, that Friday was called the Friday of the Confessors. And Simeon served for thirteen years, and he was found worthy of the crown of martyrdom.
