"Glory to the all-holy Trinity, which made us worthy, in the future, to enter the divine, blooming, and shining gardens of all things, diverse and colorful, all-humble, fruit-bearing, [as] his servant, with beautifully-adorned plants, which long forever with longing... *the memory of the Lord's feasts... starting from David, brother of Jacob, the Lord's [brother], until the feast of the Holy Cross. Again, also, a commentary on the readings of all the aghuhac bread of petitions, and other various questions and answers, word for word... and this is the joy of the soul, the delight of the body, the gladness of the heart, and the cheer of the mind, not only for the speaker but also for the listeners... As Christ took upon Himself the death of the cross, so did he [the scribe] take upon himself the hardship, and having gathered these beautifully-adorned gardens, he obtained this as provision for the path of life. But he who has learning, there is no lack for him. Now, by the grace of God and the mercy of His essence, I, the sinner and the useless among monks, who am known only by name and not by deed, have obtained for myself a spiritual possession. Now, you who read or copy [this], ask for the forgiveness of sins for the sinner, the ignorant, and the unworthy nature, for I am blinded in soul and mind, and like a rushing river that has no rest, so I have no satiety in committing sins. Now, I beg the reader and fall at [his] feet, ask from God the forgiveness of sins for Andreas and his parents and brothers, both by body and by spirit, to whom be glory forever, Amen."

in a different hand: > "Now you who read or copy this God-breathed testament, grant forgiveness of sins to the humble priest John original: "Yohannisi" and his father Karapet... for he was greatly afflicted, and these were days of wickedness, famine, and flight... and the year of the Armenians was 1111 1662 AD, and we sent this book in memory of the soul of the holy priest Khachkun and his wife..."

* Comparison of Eghishe's manuscripts, compared by Garegin the deacon (Hovsepyan), Vagharshapat 1892, page D. He says, "a folio seems to be missing from here," whereas not a single folio is missing. Either Garegin the deacon did not notice the existing folio, or that folio was found later and placed in its position. The likely case, of course, is the former, because there is no trace of any folio having been inserted later.
