original: "ΣΩΚΡΑΤΟΥΣ ΣΧΟΛΑΣΤΙΚΟΥ". Socrates (c. 380 – after 439 AD) was a Byzantine Christian church historian and a contemporary of the events described in the later parts of his work.
original: "ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑΣΤΙΚΗ ΙΣΤΟΡΙΑ". This work is one of the most important sources for the history of the early Church from the time of Constantine the Great to the mid-5th century.
