"Arise and pray, that you may not enter into temptation." And while they were speaking, behold, a crowd [arrived]. And he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, came before them. And he approached Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said to him, "Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?"
But when those who were with him saw what had happened, they said to him, "Lord, shall we strike them with the sword?" And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and took [and] cut off his right ear. But Jesus answered and said, "It is enough until this." And he touched his ear and healed it.
And Jesus said to those who came against him, the high priests, the elders, and the captains of the temple, "As against a robber have you come out against me with swords and clubs? Every day I was with you in the temple, and you did not stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness." And they seized him and brought him to the house of the high priest. And Simon was following him from afar.
And they kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and they were sitting around it. And Simon also was sitting among them. And a certain maidservant saw him sitting by the fire, and she looked at him and said, "This one also was with him." But he denied and said, "Woman, I do not know him." And after a little while, another saw him and said to him, "You also are one of them." But Simon said, "I am not." And after one hour, another was insisting and saying, "Truly this one also was with him, for he is a Galilean." Simon said, "Man, I do not know what you are saying." And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.
And our Lord turned and looked at Simon. And Simon remembered the word of our Lord, that he had said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times." And Simon went outside and wept bitterly. And the men who were holding Jesus were mocking him; and they were covering his head and striking him on his face and saying, "Prophesy, who is it that struck you?" And many other things they were blaspheming and saying against him. And when the day dawned,
the elders and the high priests and the scribes gathered, and they brought him up to their assembly. And they said to him, "If you are the Messiah, tell us." He said to them, "If I tell you, you will not believe me. And if I ask you, you will not answer me a word, or release me. From now on, the Son of Man will be sitting at the right hand of the power of God." They all said, "Are you then the Son of God?" Jesus said to them, "You say that I am." They said, "What further testimony do we need? For we have heard from his own mouth."
And their whole assembly arose and brought him before Pilate. And they began to accuse him, saying, "This one we found misleading our people, and forbidding [them] to give tribute to Caesar, and saying of himself that he is a king, the Messiah." Pilate then asked him and said to him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" He said to him, "You have said." And Pilate said to the high priests and the crowds, "I find no cause against this man." But they were shouting and saying, "He stirs up our people, while teaching in all of Judea. And he began from Galilee and up to here." But Pilate, when he heard the name of Galilee, asked if the man was a Galilean. And when he knew that [he was] from...
