...should they be destroyed from the lives of the body? And by that which saved them from the death of sin. And as God is in His essence, so was man made by His will. And as for man, who is in his essence, God made him by His grace. And as God is known in man, so also is man known in God. And as God descended to the earth, so also did man ascend to heaven. And as God was contained in a body, so also was man expanded in divinity. And as God was humbled in humanity, so also was man exalted in divinity. And as God appeared on the earth, so also did man appear in heaven. And as God appeared in the likeness of man, so also did man appear in the likeness of God. And as God appeared in the form of a servant, so also did man appear in the form of the Lord. And as God appeared in the likeness of a sinner, so also did man appear in the likeness of the righteous. to humanity, so that they might live in His divinity. There is no movement of the soul in His divinity, and there is no fear of death in it. For the soul that has light in it is illuminated by the light of divinity. For the life of the soul is from God; the life of the body is from the soul. As our Lord said in the Gospel: "Everyone who believes in me, even if he should die, he shall live; and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die." For in that He said, "even if he should die, he shall live," He spoke of the life of the body. And in that He said, "he shall never die," He spoke of the life of the soul, because the soul is not mortal by essence, and the body is mortal by essence. And because of this, all the life of man is from God, and man lives from God Himself.
