DEDICATED TO THE MOST HOLY LORD, OUR POPE SIXTUS V, SUPREME PONTIFF.

An architectural frontispiece features an octagonal portrait of a man with a beard, identified as the architect Domenico Fontana, holding a measuring rule. Above the portrait is the coat of arms of Pope Sixtus V (featuring a lion, stars, and mountains). The entire composition is framed by classical columns and decorative scrollwork.
