the work is justly dedicated to Your Excellency, and as it was born from a Spanish Author, and Your Excellency was born from a Mother so illustrious of the same nation; and the same Work being translated into Italian, and you being an Italian Prince, it was more reasonably fitting to no one other than Your Excellency; hence, having no doubt that it will be welcomed by you, and favored with your authority in such a way that through you it may be more dear to all soldiers and Gunners, it remains for us only to pay you reverence, and to assure you that we dedicate ourselves to you as your most humble servants; praying to God that He may grant every good to Your Excellency.
