shown their perdition in the eighteenth chapter of the Apocalypse original: "Apocalypse"; refers to the Book of Revelation, intending to amend them, and that several times also I had shown them a written authority from the Prophet Jeremiah, where he says: Cursed be you Pastors, who eat the milk and clothe yourselves in the wool, and leave my sheep scattered upon the mountains; I will require them at your hand. Seeing such things, instead of amending themselves, they hardened, and banded against the light, in order to walk the remainder of their days in darkness, and following their pleasures and accustomed carnal desires, I would never have thought that they would wish to take the occasion from that to put me to death. God is my witness that the harm they have done to me was for no other reason than the aforementioned. Nevertheless, I pray to God that He may wish to amend them. This will be the place where I will pray to everyone who sees this book to make themselves a lover of agriculture, following my first intention, which is a just labor and worthy of being prized and honored. Also, as I have said above, let the simple be instructed by the Doctes learned/scholars, so that we may not be rebuked on the great day for having hidden our talents in the earth, as we know well that those who have thus hidden them will be banished from the eternal Kingdom, from before the face of Him who lives and reigns eternally for ever and ever.
Amen.
