To the Theologumena Referring to the Theologumena Arithmeticae (Theological Principles of Arithmetic) mentioned on the previous page. we have seen fit to add the Arithmetic of Nicomachus, transcribed here more accurately with the help of Munich manuscripts codd. MSS. Monacensium: "Codices Manuscripti Monacenses," referring to the collection of handwritten books held in the state library in Munich. and based on the Parisian edition of 1538 in quarto format. Since our sole purpose was to make these books public—as they have been either neglected or remained unknown due to the extreme rarity of existing copies—we have decided to include brief critical notes in those instances where the phrasing of the Parisian volumes appeared to us to be faulty.
