"established in his mind" original Greek: σταθεὶς τὴν διάνοιαν] It should be written: "established in his [understanding]." Meursius is suggesting a slight grammatical or shorthand correction to the Greek text here.

"and to the servant of Christ, Poemen" original Greek: καὶ τῇ δούλῃ τοῦ Χριστοῦ Ποιμένι; Poemen is usually a male name, but the Greek text uses a feminine article here.] In the manuscript of Gentianus Hervetus A 16th-century French scholar and translator of patristic texts. it seems to have been "Poemania" instead of "Poemen."

"near the city of Nikiou" original Greek: πλησίον Νικίως τῆς πόλεως] This is a city of Egypt, Nikiou, the capital metropolis of the Prosopite administrative district original: præfecturæ; referring to an Egyptian "nome" or province.. Ptolemy the Geographer in Book 4 writes: "from the east toward the great river is the Prosopite district, and the capital Nikiou." Stephanus [of Byzantium] calls the village Nikie, a village of Egypt. Aristagoras, in the second book of his Egyptian Affairs, calls an inhabitant a "Nikiote." Today this passage [in the manuscript] suffers from poor punctuation.

"beyond the Poemenium" original Greek: ἐπέκεινα τοῦ Ποιμενίου] He understands this to mean the monastery of Abbot Poemen, whom John Moschus mentions in the Spiritual Meadow original: Limonarium, Chapter 167.

"For a certain Jerome, a priest" original Greek: Ἱερώνυμος γάρ τις πρεσβύτερος] He is speaking of the Blessed Jerome Saint Jerome, the translator of the Vulgate Bible..

"the noblewoman Paula" original Greek: ἡ μὲν ἐλευθέρα Παῦλα] This is that same woman whose funeral oration Epitaph Blessed Jerome writes in a letter to her daughter Eustochium.

"and Oxyperentius" original Greek: καὶ Ὀξυπερέντιον] It should be written: "and Exuperantius" original Greek: καὶ Ἐξυπεράντιον. For this is that very man to whom a letter of Blessed Jerome exists.

"One Serapion by name" original Greek: Σεραπίων τις ὀνόματι] Regarding him, one should consult Sozomen, Book 6, Chapter 27; Rufinus, On the Lives of the Fathers, Chapter 18; and Nicephorus, Book 11, Chapter 34. Cassian also mentions him in his Conferences original: Collat., Book 11, Chapter 10 and Book 5, Chapter 1.
