EUSEBIUS

PAMPHILUS Eusebius (c. 260–339 AD) was the Bishop of Caesarea. He added the name "Pamphilus" to his own to honor his mentor, the martyr Pamphilus of Caesarea. He is widely regarded as the "Father of Church History."

This 4th-century work is the first comprehensive narrative of the Christian Church, documenting the succession of bishops, the lives of martyrs, and the development of Christian doctrine from the time of the Apostles to the reign of Emperor Constantine.
