Lazarus Goldschmidt1) has provided a Hebrew translation, but not from the Ethiopic text; rather, it is based on Dillmann’s German translation.2)
Besides the Ethiopic translation, the following larger fragments of the Book of Enoch have been preserved:
1. The Greek fragments of Gizeh, discovered in the winter of 1886—1887 by the Mission Archéologique française French Archaeological Mission at Akhmîm, first published with a facsimile by M. Bouriant, Mémoires publiés par les membres de la Mission archéologique française au Caire Memoirs published by the members of the French Archaeological Mission in Cairo, Vol. IX, 1 and 3, Paris, 1892.1) They offer Ch. I—XXXII 6, and Ch. XX 2—XXI 9 in a double version (P1 and P2).
2. Larger citations by Synkellos, mostly running parallel to the text from Gizeh. Through the mediation of Prof. Harnack, Prof. Gelzer has made v. Gutschmid’s collations and his emendations available to me for these pieces. I express my heartfelt thanks to him here.
3. A Greek fragment in the Codex Vaticanus Gr. 1809, treated in detail by Gildemeister, Zeitschr. D. M. G. Journal of the German Oriental Society 1855, p. 621 to 624.2)
