The Senegal River in Africa is known to separate the Black populations original: "negroes" from those people who are only distinguished by a dark complexion. Those tribes are all governed by their own chiefs; they speak Arabic, and in their customs original: "manners", they resemble the rest of the Arabian nation. They should be regarded as allies rather than subjects of the governments of the various countries where they have established themselves.
On the eastern coast of Africa, the Arabs have spread as far as Mozambique original: "Mosambique". At the very least, the rulers original: "sovereigns" of several kingdoms on that coast were historically original: "anciently" Arabs. The same nation also made themselves masters of the Comoro original: "Comorra" Islands and a part of the island of Madagascar, where Arab colonies still remain.
