Roger Bacon was a thirteenth century English Franciscan friar. He is known for his work in natural philosophy and his emphasis on empirical observation.
original: "De retardatione accidentium senectutis." In medieval medicine, the word "accidentium" refers to the physical symptoms, ailments, or clinical signs that accompany aging.
Andrew George Little and Edward Theodore Withington were prominent scholars. Little focused on Franciscan history while Withington was an expert in the history of medicine.
