This page consists primarily of mirrored ink bleed-through from the title page on the front side. Only the library stamp in the center is right-reading and original to this side of the leaf.
The page shows a rectangular library stamp with a double-line border centered in the middle of the leaf. Mirrored text from the title page on the reverse side is visible throughout the page, including the words "THEOSOPHICAL Epistles" at the top and "Printed in Amsterdam in the Year of Christ 1682" at the bottom.
original: "BIBLIOTHECA REGIA MONACENSIS." This Latin stamp identifies the volume as formerly belonging to the Royal Library of Munich, which today is known as the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (Bavarian State Library). The presence of such stamps helps scholars trace the provenance, or ownership history, of rare books.
The mirrored text visible through the paper is from the title page of Jacob Boehme's "Theosophical Epistles," printed in Amsterdam in 1682. The OCR suggests 1632 in the description, but the title page and historical records confirm this edition as 1682. This "ghosting" effect is common in historical manuscripts and early printed books where the ink has permeated the paper over centuries.
