In Boehme’s system, these are the three realms of existence: the dark fire-world (wrath), the light-world (love), and the outer world (nature)., and then continuing with all the things promised in my book. It is only that I am burdened with almost too many worldly affairs; otherwise, a great part might already be finished. However, I will apply myself through Divine and similar practice; what GOD wills, shall happen. I hereby commend the Lord into the protection of the Most High! Written in haste.

The 2nd Epistle.

To the same Mr. Carl von Endern,

the 22nd of October, in the year 1619.

Noble, brave, and most honorable Lord, to the same are my humble, diligent, and willing services, along with wishes from GOD for His love and grace, for a new creature in the new man, in the body of JESUS CHRIST, and also all temporal prosperity for the earthly body.

2. I have taken into consideration your noble heart and mind, which is ignited and burning in love, not only toward GOD, but also toward His children; this has greatly rejoiced me in Christ. In particular, I must consider the true earnestness and zeal which I recognize Your Honor original: "E. Gestr." for "Eure Gestrengigkeit," a formal title for a nobleman or knight. has applied to my few writings of the first part, and that you did not look upon the murderer's driving original: "des Treibers Morden." This refers to the fierce opposition and persecution Boehme faced from the local orthodox pastor, Gregory Richter, whom Boehme often calls "the driver" or "the prosecutor.", but rather strived to read them yourself and transcribed them with your own hand.

3. For it is quite clear to me that GOD will have opened a little gate for Your Honor, which remained firmly locked to the driver; because he sought it in art original: "in der Kunst."
