...did not look upon what is written: My strength is made mighty in the weak; and how Christ thanks his Father that He had hidden it from the clever and wise, and revealed it to the simple original: "Unmündigen," literally "minors" or those not yet of age; in this biblical context, it refers to the spiritually humble or "babes.", and says further: Even so, Father, for it was well-pleasing in your sight.
4. Thus it is well-considered by me and recognizable in my spirit, that such things have happened through Your Honor original: "E. G." for "Eure Gestrengigkeit," a formal title for a nobleman. not out of any curiosity, but as befits the children of God who seek the Noble Pearl original: "Edle Perle." In Boehme’s theosophy, the "Pearl" represents the spark of divine light or Sophia (Wisdom) regained within the soul. and are eager for it; which, if it be found, is the most noble jewel, which man loves more than his earthly life. 6. Therefore I am in earnest, since a spark of the noble pearl has also been given to me, and Christ faithfully warns us not to put it under the bench or to bury it in the earth. Neither should we fear too greatly those men who kill the body and can do nothing more, but rather [fear] Him who may destroy both body and soul and cast them into hell.
7. And although in my time I shall not gain great thanks from some, to whom their belly is dearer than the kingdom of heaven: yet my writings have their gifts, and
