in these lower things, such as: in the elements, in stones, in plants, in animals, and their limbs. Therefore, every thing, through its harmonic constitution and through the star by which it is irradiated, receives a certain specially formed sign, or its imprinted mark and distinguishing feature, which provides proof or a token of that star or that agreement and harmony, and contains within itself a very special, peculiar power that is different from others, partly according to the genus, partly according to the species, and partly also according to the number of the matter at hand. Every thing has thus received its own character imprinted within itself by virtue of a special effect from its star, and indeed most of all from that which has the upper hand in it over all others. And these impressions and characters have and retain the peculiar natures, powers, and fundamental essences of these stars within themselves, and bring forth similar effects in other things upon which they reflect their rays, and awaken and promote the influences of their stars, whether they may be
