This work treats nearly everything in the literature of learning. It has no superfluities superfluities: unnecessary details or excesses.
The 1st edition was published in 1835 (vol. I) and 1836 (vol. II).
The 2nd edition is a reprint of the 1st.
The 3rd edition (1838–9) has alterations.
But the 4th edition (1840), from which Miss Crane? translated, is a reprint of the 1st.
