The official seal of Wellesley College set within a rectangular frame. The seal is circular with an outer border containing the text "SIGILLVM · COLLEGII · WELLESLIEIANI · 1875 ·". An inner ring carries the college motto: "Not to be served, but to serve" original: "NON MINISTRARI SED MINISTRARE". At the center is a depiction of an open book with the inscription "A new life begins" original: "Incipit Vita Nova". The entire bookplate is enclosed in a double-line border.
