Thinking is indeterminate in this regard, as surely as I did not intend to think of a particular tree, but rather the tree in general original: den Baum überhaupt. Fichte is contrasting a specific physical object with the abstract mental category of "tree-ness" which lacks specific height, leaf count, or age.. However, I deny this tree in general any actual existence existence: Daseyn, a term used by Fichte to describe concrete, objective being in the world, precisely because it is indeterminate. Everything that is real has its determined number of all possible properties of the real in general, and possesses each of these in a specific measure measure: Maaße, the degree or quantity of a specific quality, as surely as it is real—even if I humbly admit that I may not be able to fully exhaust the properties of even a single object, nor be capable of applying a scale scale: Maasstab, a standard of measurement to them all. —

But nature rushes onward in its constant transformation transformation: Verwandlung, the continuous process of change or metamorphosis in the physical world: and while I am still speaking about the moment I have captured original: aufgefaßten Moment. This refers to the act of mentally "grasping" or perceiving a specific point in time., it has already fled, and everything has changed; and before I even grasped it, everything was likewise different. How it was, and how I perceived it, it had not always been; it had become so.
