A high-resolution color photograph of a section of the Great Isaiah Scroll (1QIsa^a). The parchment is brownish-tan with irregular, jagged edges, showing substantial missing portions at the bottom. The Hebrew text is written in dark ink across three columns: the central column is mostly complete, while the columns to the right and left are fragmentary. Horizontal ruling lines (dry point) are faintly visible guiding the script.

Is 2:21
when He arises to terrify the earth.
And it shall be that every stay on which he leaned

upon, for behold, the Lord, the LORD
of Hosts, removes from Jerusalem and from Judah both staff and stay, every stay of
bread and every stay of water, the mighty man and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the diviner and the elder,
the captain of fifty and the honorable man, and the counselor and the expert artisan and the clever enchanter. And I will give
youths to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. And the people shall be oppressed, everyone by another and everyone by his neighbor;
the youth shall behave proudly against the elder and the base against the honorable. For a man will take hold of his brother
in the house of his father, saying, "You have a cloak, you shall be our ruler, and this ruin
be under your hand." He will protest in that day, saying, "I will not be a healer,
for in my house there is neither bread nor clothing; do not make me a ruler of the people." For Jerusalem has stumbled
and Judah has fallen, because their tongue and their doings are toward the LORD, to provoke
the eyes of His glory. The look on their faces bears witness against them, and they declare their sin like Sodom
and do not hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves. Say of the righteous
that it is well, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe to the wicked, it shall be ill, for
as his hands have dealt, it shall be done to him. As for My people, children are their oppressors and women rule over them. O My people,
those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.
Is 3:13
The LORD stands to plead, and stands to judge the peoples. The LORD will enter into judgment with
the elders of His people and the princes thereof: "For you have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
What mean you that you crush My people and grind the faces of the poor?" says the Lord
GOD of Hosts.
Is 3:16
And the LORD says, "Because
the daughters of Zion are haughty,
and walk with stretched-forth necks
and wanton eyes, walking
and mincing as they go, and with their feet
making a tinkling sound," therefore the Lord will smite
with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD
will lay bare their secret parts. In that day
the Lord will take away the bravery of
their anklets, and the headbands,
and the crescents, and the pendants,
and the bracelets, and the veils,
and the headdresses, and the armlets,
and the sashes, and the perfume
boxes, and the amulets,
and the signet rings, and the nose-rings,
and the festival robes,
and the outer garments, and the cloaks,
and the satchels, and the hand mirrors,
and the fine linen, and the turbans,
and the veils; and it shall be
instead of spice, rottenness;
and instead of a girdle, a rope;
and instead of well-set hair,
baldness; and instead of a stomacher,
a girding of sackcloth, for
instead of beauty, your men?.
