What is good? - Everything that increases the feeling of power, the will to power, and power itself in man.
What is bad? - Everything that stems from weakness.
What is happiness? - The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is being overcome.
Not satisfaction, but more power; not peace at any price, but war; not virtue, but efficiency (virtue in the Renaissance style, virtù moral-free virtue/excellence).
The weak and the failures shall perish: the first principle of our love of humanity. And one should even help them to do so.
What is more harmful than any vice? - Active sympathy for all the failures and the weak - Christianity...
The problem that I pose here is not what is to replace humanity in the sequence of beings (- man is an end -): but rather what type of human being one should breed, should desire, as the higher-valued, more worthy of life, more certain of the future.
This higher type has existed often enough already: but as a stroke of luck, as an exception, never as intended. On the contrary, it has been feared most of all; it was hitherto almost the terrible; - and out of fear, the opposite type was desired, bred, and achieved: the domestic animal, the herd animal, the sick animal man, - the
