This small Treatise is extracted from a more extensive Work, undertaken formerly without having consulted my own strengths, and abandoned for a long time. Of the various pieces that could be drawn from what was finished, this one is the most significant, and has appeared to me the least unworthy of being offered to the Public. The rest no longer exists.
