One will surely not mistake the intention of that economy; the reader should be led as directly as possible to Plato himself and not be bothered with the various opinions about Plato any more than is strictly necessary. I have wavered as to whether I should provide a bibliography at the beginning or the end; I have refrained from doing so because there is no lack of resources for finding one, and a comprehensive overview tends to confuse, while a limited one can easily turn out to be, or at least appear, too subjective.
