The spine of a 17th-century book bound in brown calfskin or morocco leather. It features five raised bands creating six compartments. The second compartment from the top contains the title and author stamped in gold gilt. The bottom compartment contains the year of publication stamped in gold gilt. The leather shows signs of age with some cracking and wear along the joints.
