The coat of arms of Pope Alexander VII (Fabio Chigi). The shield features the Chigi family emblems: six mountains (montes) arranged in a pyramid topped by an eight-pointed star. The shield is surrounded by ornate baroque mantling, including tassels and two cherubic figures on the sides. It is surmounted by the papal tiara (triregnum) and the crossed keys of Saint Peter.
