An engraving of the "Elephant and Obelisk" (Pulcino della Minerva) monument in Rome, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The image depicts a detailed Egyptian obelisk covered in hieroglyphics, topped with a cross and star ornament. The obelisk is supported on the back of a caparisoned elephant standing on a tiered pedestal. At the bottom of the engraving is a measurement scale.
