and having manifested other signs of Catholic piety, on the eighteenth day of his illness, between the last hour of the year 1679 and the first of the rising new year, with our Religious standing by as usual, and reading the final prayers, which he stated was a source of the greatest consolation to him, he ended his life. His body was buried in our Church, in which he had chosen his tomb, and which is more precious to us than any inheritance (which we consider the greatest, even if it is very small, as a token of his love).
