This page shows a full-page scan of a marbled paper sheet. Such papers were commonly used as endpapers or covers for historical manuscripts and printed books. The pattern follows a traditional stone or shell marble design. It is characterized by many tan and light brown circular spots of various sizes. These stone-like shapes are outlined in dark brown and black. Thin, irregular veins of deep blue run between the clusters to create a dense, organic texture.
