Geber is the Latinized name of Jabir ibn Hayyan, an 8th century Arabic scholar. In the 16th century, many alchemists believed his difficult, "coded" writings held the secret to the philosopher's stone.

The second brings to light the mysteries

of Ramon Lull of Mallorca.

Ramon Lull (c. 1232–1316) was a philosopher and mystic. Many alchemical works were falsely attributed to him during the Renaissance to lend them authority.

Preceding these are one hundred and

twenty-nine propositions, covering the same

subject with concise brevity.
