Geber is the Latinized name of Jabir ibn Hayyan, an 8th century Arabic scholar. In the 16th century, many alchemists believed his difficult, "coded" writings held the secret to the philosopher's stone.
Ramon Lull (c. 1232–1316) was a philosopher and mystic. Many alchemical works were falsely attributed to him during the Renaissance to lend them authority.
