PREFACE
The original text is organized into a branching tree diagram using large curly braces to classify the types of "Data," which are the known elements or given information in Euclid’s geometry. This hierarchy moves from general concepts on the left to specific examples and their corresponding proposition numbers on the right.
By Magnitude (Size) This category deals with the physical dimensions of shapes.
By Ratio, to which we can provide an equivalent. This involves the relationship between two quantities rather than their absolute size.
By Species (Shape), a rectilinear figure where the angles are given and the ratios of the sides to each other are given. The term "Species" here refers to the specific form or proportion of a figure.
Given by Position, which always occupy the same place.
By Position and Magnitude.
