The page consists of a marbled endpaper with a traditional pattern of red, ochre-yellow, and black ink swirls on an off-white background. A rectangular white bookplate is pasted onto the center of the marbled surface.

In the center of the bookplate is an engraved portrait of an elderly man with white hair, Jonathan Phillips, set within an oval frame. The frame is flanked by ornate columns and decorative flourishes.
